Heading To Montauk And Current River

Headed to Montauk on Oct. 15th. Looking forward to some much deserved quality time in the water. I am especially eager to fish the Current below Baptist Camp as I hooked up with several nice fish in that locale last fall. Might even fish the park as there may be a stray lunker or two left over from Rose Holland.

I'll post a report after we return.

heading down the same weekend. Plan to fish mainly the river from the cable down and the just below Tan Vat. I haven't fished much below baptist though. Hope to see you down there.

The lower river can be great this year and is very easy to wade and fish. To limit yourself to the areas above Tan Vat will cut you out of alot of quality fishing. Below Baptist and the area around Parker's ford is great. Cedargrove is good this time of year also. Monthly stocking is still going on and the water should be good to wade below Cedargrove. A float this time of year is spectacular. Fish the park early in the morning then get out and see the river.

Missed you and your Britts at BSSP last week. Lucky you to go to Montauk in a couple. Was hoping to get down there this year but haven't. BSSP has been a bust this year. Need to get a trip together to Taney. Never been there but sure would like to do it. Good luck. You taking FFM with you?

I am also looking for a little get away to taney this winter. Maybe we can hook up. Might be taking one of the bitts with me this weekend. My cousin is going also. So if you want to head down there is plenty of room in the camper. Keep the lines tight.
