Terry Beeson Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Well, this year's conclave has come and gone. I'm exhausted, but gratified in what we accomplished over the weekend. Michael Kyle did a great job as Conclave Chair this year putting together a team of people that got the job done. Because of him, Kelly Galloup and Tim Rajeff may just be back for more conclave in the future. If you missed Conclave, here are some highlights from my perspective: Seeing old friends. Meeting new friends. Getting to pull the ClackaCraft drift boat from Springfield to Mountain Home. Sigmund – and all his “uncles.” Thursday night dinner by the Texas Contention. The auction - always entertaining and lots of great stuff!!! Friday night dinner and party at Copper John’s with the Kansas Contention. Barry Dauphin’s hot peanuts. FREE popcorn! Hearing a first time Conclaver from Mississippi talk about being like a “kid in a candy store!” Cary Marcus’ TFO cap. Opening Saturday morning early enough to go out and cast a few rods in the casting pond before anyone else got there. The guys from Project Healing Waters and the outrageous flies! Dennis Slane’s dutch oven lunch. My wife’s first casting lesson with Jeff Trigg Cindy’s SECOND casting lesson with Tim Rajeff Beer with the guides and vendors by the back door. Watching them scatter when the guard – a Baxter County Deputy – showed up. “Does my beer smell funny to you?” Kelly Galloup’s Saturday night program – HILARIOUS! You guys missed it! Plan now to attend the '09 Conclave.... you won't be sorry...
