We put in at Aunt's Creek this AM. We fished around there for a while then headed out to the points, then the mouth of creek cove, then the back of coves, then bushes, then cedars. That icky smell on the lake was us. We stunk it up. We caught around twenty fish, but nothing over fourteen inches. My partner out fished me with a Texas rigged crawdad. I think it was made by Zoom. I caught some feisty baby small mouth on a squarebill. We caught others on the spinnerbait, Eakins Jewel jig, Texas rigged worm and shaky head.

Have no clue where the keepers are today. I am off to ice my butt as I was spanked by the Rock today.

techo, 20 bass, even shorts, would not stink up my boat. But you are used to better luck. Hope to get down there in Nov. So far I have made it up to 7 miles from the dam. If I have luck like I had in Sept. I will be happy.

kcangler,

Thanks for putting it into perspective. Normally I would be thrilled, but we were trying to get ready for a tournament. Nothing turned out today the way I thought it would. I think that is why I whined. It was a good day with a good friend though. Not too hot and not too cold. A bit wet on the outside, but nothing my rain gear didn't handle.

Thanks again for waking me up!

I think part of the problem is that water temp is so homogenous right now we have fish at many different depths and in many different patterns. Read everyone's posts for the last two weeks and notice the diversity of methods.

Having said that, remember that he who catches largemouths usually beats those who catch spots and smallmouths. Not always, but usually. I realize I fish a different end of the lake, but the last couple of weeks I have caught keeper largemouth at the way back end of coves in 2 to 6 feet of water while fishing buzz baits over laydowns and through bushes. If you can't develop a solid pattern, give that a try.

Good luck.

Capt Don,

I am fishing the AIA Buddy Tourney. If you sre fishing the same one I could just meet you somewhere and hand over my share of the money! We are just fishing it for the fun and experience. I am not sure if we will head up river or not in my little 90 horse. All of them big motors will already be there. Best of luck to you in any case.

I'll be fishing AIA also. I will not have been on the Rock for 2 weeks, hopefully we get some clouds/wind. I have to prefish on Beaver on Saturday for another tournmant or I'd go then. I'll be in a Maroon/silver Skeeter, would be nice to meet some of you guys if your fishing this one.....

Look forward to seeing you there. I will be in the little red/white Skeeter with the 90 horse Yamaha. I think we will put in at Mill Creek and motor over, depending on how bad the fog is. I'm the tall homely dude wearing the (used to be white) Skeeter ball cap.

Also don't give up your money so fast, I get my rear end handed to me on this lake as well. Both of you look for the big Blue Tanker, I will be by myself for this one. Also not going up the river they can have it. Good Luck to everyone, lets go have some fun!!!!
