Any thoughts on any of these boats for Taneycomo ? Im thinkin 17 or 18 ft side console, at least 50 h.p. . The Tracker would probably be the easist for sevice since the BP is right on the lake,But if anyone knows anything about the G3 or Xpress let me hear it....thanks

i've got a 2001 G3 Pro 175 w/ a 40 yamaha 2 stroke...the current model is called the eagle 175.

it's plenty of boat for the tailwaters, and for the upper ends of any reservoir. i'd be hesitant to try and touch the dam on a windy day at stockton in it...but other than that it's a great boat -- that fishes well.

i spoke to a guy, and looked at his express pretty closely this weekend at beaver. it looks to me like the seating is a little farther forward in it, so the front deck is shorter, and the rod box is on the side...which limits seating capacity.

i'd personally buy either of them before a tracker...the tracker has more of a v bow which gets pretty tippy.

my old boat was a ranger, and it was unbelievable stable...but for an aluminum boat the G3 is pretty darn stable -- which is important to me because i have two small boys.

I have fished out of an Xpress 18 foot center console with a 2 stroke 90hp Yamaha for three years. Very dry, very stable, very solid built, and no carpet to rot or wear out. The inside is similar to a rhino truck bed liner and wears well. Several side consoles are stored at the same marina as I use (Holiday Island) and those owners are quite pleased with theirs.

I happen to know of a near new used 17 foot SC with carpet, sonar, trailer, and a 50 or 60 hp Merc for sale near here. The ask price, according to Butch where it is consigned, is $9000. If you want I'll find out a phone number for you to call.

I compared the Tracker with Lowe. I bought the Lowe. Much wider and not as tippy. Get the 4 cycle engine though. Much quiter, cleaner and trolls slower. 24 volt trolling motor is the way to go. The 175 Crappie runs shallow to. Mine has a 50 hp Merc. Was cheaper too.

I'll weigh in because I went Tracker. I have heard very happy owners and some disappointed ones as well. Most of the disappointment comes from dealer interaction.

I however didn't worry because I had a small budget and was looking for a used boat.

I ended up with a 1997 ProTeam 170 (17') with a 1987 Mercury 80 HP 2 Stroke. I am very happy with it.

I like to move on the water and would not put anything lower than a 60 HP on any boat on Taneycomo or Tablerock. Rivers are a whole other creature. Don't know a thing about Xpress so can't help.

I was shocked to see my model of Tracker now new for $13,000. You can find many good used boats for far less unless you are one of those people who just like new everything.
