taxidermist Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I have caught some smallies on the White and a couple three pound bass on seperate trips. Sunday was odd to say the lest. I hit the jack pot on Crappie, caught nine yes black crappie, they all had the stripe don the back to the nose. and along with that several largemouth bass but they were small (sport bass) as Trav says. All on my CD-9 Rapala. Its certainly an odd trip to catch more crappie than trout!! all between Wildcat and Cotter. Dont have any idea where they came from maybe thru the flood gates or maybe they are moving up stream with all the high water. I know there are crappie above lock and dam #1 at Batesville, but there are two more dams for then to get over to move on up stream. Plus this was the first time I have caught crappie!!
Don Allenbaugh Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Not that odd. I catch crappie and smallmouth every so often right above Jenkins creek. I have had 2 largemouths spend several months in a hole below my house ( I live a couple of hundred yards above Jenkins). The hole beside the dock at Red Bud usually has both in it. Don A
