Members petertherock Posted March 16, 2006 Members Posted March 16, 2006 Fellows like lilley, Bill Babler, Buster, i think we would do a great public service by talking about safe boating to first-timers on the Rock, during these low water level conditions! You all be CAREFUL! petertherock P.S. as you can tell I'm not fishing in the morning, I got to go to bed! Good Night! Good Morning! petertherock
Bill Babler Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Great point by petertherock. Now is not the time to cut the bouy points. Slow down and stay in the channel. I am however seeing quite a bit of structure that is going in the old memory bank for future use. Be Safe. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Steve Smith Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Bill's right on. Nows the time to take a digital camera, map, and GPS. You can mark structure you never knew existed. Old fence lines, humps, and drop off's. It will certainly payback when the water is back up to normal. At least I hope it returns to normal. ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO
Members petertherock Posted March 16, 2006 Author Members Posted March 16, 2006 Ain't it great, to see the structure and the cover! Let's hope, as you say it gets back to normal though soon, so there is a good spawn. I don't think we can warn new comers enough though be CAREFUL RIGHT NOW! petertherock
Fishing Buddy Don House Posted March 16, 2006 Fishing Buddy Posted March 16, 2006 To anyone new to the Lake Everyone is right, there are areas on this lake that are just dangerous.. James river is really Bad, I watched a guy beach his boat on a flat in less than 2 feet of water a jet boat had to pull him off.. James River - Virgin Bluff area right on and around the bend, there is a large tree row just inches under the water that goes all the way across the lake.. These will kill your day of fun and you!!! James River - Wooley and Piney Creek is 30 feet at the center of the creek, but there are trees right in the middle that are 29 feet.. So when you go into a creek just because it is 30 plus feet get down off of plane and go slow until you check out the whole area.. Any Place we used to be able to cut through to save time, you just can't right now.. Swing really really wide on points these points go out a very long way, you may be in the middle of the lake with less than 2 feet of water... BE SAFE, GO SLOW and BECAREFUL..... Good Fishing Capt.
