Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted October 31, 2008 Root Admin Posted October 31, 2008 I've joined the MAC ranks. We now have 3 mac's in the family/biz. I bought a Mac Pro last week and just got my cs4 web software today so I'm loaded for bear. But it's tough getting used to the different way this works and acts. One thing is finding/saving/moving files around. Explorer was easy. I understood c:/ drive and the filing system. Mac is difficult to read, IMO. I've connected my 2 screens today and having alittle trouble keeping them inline. One screen wants to bleed over into the next. The curser in the corner to change apps is a pain too. Gotta find a new way. I have to go to the right screen and upper right corner and that's along way to go if you're working in the left screen. Any thoughts?
DD'sMC Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 In a word....tutorials! I use both MAC and PC. It took a little while to get used to the MAC, but IMO, it is very user friendly. Good luck! We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. The two best times to go fishing? When it is raining and when it is not.
Members Doc Tom Posted November 1, 2008 Members Posted November 1, 2008 I started out on an Apple IIC back in the late 80s maybe early 90s. After 5 or 6 macs I changed to a PC. Not because I didn't like the Mac but because some of the programs I wanted weren't available for Macs. After using Windows 98, 2000, and XP I recently went back to Macs. About a month ago got a Macbook Pro. As you said I haven't figured out the filing system completely, BUT everything else is easier and stable. It seemed like on the PC after 1-2 years all the updates for the different programs didn't play well with each other and things slowed down and occaisonally crashed or froze. After a couple more month I think you'll be really happy with the mac. Tom
FishinCricket Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 I am using my first apple product to type this (iPhone) and other than the Swahili customer service reps I have been extremely happy with my Mac.. I agree with the above sentiment about the tutorials.. It seemed like a long video, but it has been extremely helpful.. cricket.c21.com
