Chief Grey Bear
Finally, with some help from Phil, I am able to post some pics of Capp's Creek that I took Friday. It seems as if Phil and I unknowingly had the same idea only on different creeks. Thanks for your help Phil. Chief Grey Bear
The rest of my trip. I was down stream from the mill at the lower bridge access. I post these for those that have never been or maybe thinking of comming to Capp's and wondered what you may be getting into. It is really a fun creek to fish. I hope you enjoy these. ollie
I fished Capps yesterday morning and didn't do too well. The wind was impossible to fish! Well, it could be fished, but it was pretty hard. I met a couple of nice people down there. One from Joplin and the other from Fayetteville. It was really slow, but I imagine after they stock it will pick back up. I was a little surprised to see the gate to the mill closed all morning though. Hope to see some people come down for the Sunday of Thanksgiving. Chief Grey Bear
Friday started out ok other than the rain. I caught the one in the pic within the first 20 minutes or so. Then just up in the next riffle, one struck my strike indicator and then hit my jig. I turned him but that was it. I worked that spot over pretty well with no results. Right after that the rain set in pretty good and that was it on bites. I never even had any chubs hit. I found both of these trout in the riffles. As of now, it is my plan to attend Olliefest. Members tgard27
Hey, I haven't been down south recently but I have talked to MDC about trout stocking for the winter urban trout program. They said that the delay for the urban program was due to a problem in the hatchery, the woman that I talked to wouldn't specify the problem. They stocked the ponds up here in KC nearly three weeks late and they were only brown trout something that I have never seen before. I was going down to hickory on tues, but probably going to head over to crane with the lack of stocking news. tgard
