taxidermist Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Its in front of the Ark, G&F comm to stock 22,000 stripers per year in Bull. due to the huge size the fish are growing to. The thought is the lack of over crowding in the species is what is allowing the fish to reach the enormous sizes. Higher O2 than Norfork may help with less mortality rates.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 24, 2008 Root Admin Posted November 24, 2008 Wow- did they ask Missouri???
Bill Butts Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Hello Taxidermist! Just curious what explanations you have heard as to how and why the Stripers in Bull Shoals got there? Some say the AGFC still denies ever stocking them in the past 10-15 years. A several year commitment of that number annually would create a phenomenal fishery for those that really pursued those great fish. Fishhand Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Hey Bill, long time no see. Hope things are well. Didn't you try and get a petition or some such going at one time supporting the reintroduction of stripers in Bull Shoals? If so, what was the response at that time?
Wayne SW/MO Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Why Stripers, as opposed to Hybrids? If they don't flood the upper end, and they do stock, it would be great for the average fisherman in SW Missouri. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
