bigredbirdfan Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 What depths are these jigs fished? What specific brands, sizes and colors should be used? Are they slowed retrieved to boat or just drifted perpindicular to the boat?
Dutch Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Any color will work but I like black/brown/white/chart/tan especiall the tan. When I fish this way I will have anywhere from 4-12 feet of line out depending on the depth of the hole and the current. I work the jig with slight shakings of the float just like fishing float and fly for bass.
twosets Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Hey Big Red Bill Babler has a great article on jig and float in the Taney article section which will answer your questions. I like pink during heavy generation and olive or sculpin in light or no generation. You need to fool around with presentation to see what they want, a light breeze will give the micro jigs plenty of action under a float. Phil has lots of the micros in his shop. "This is not Nam.
