Fishing Buddy Don House Posted November 27, 2008 Fishing Buddy Posted November 27, 2008 Well Guy's and Gal's The rock is really on, or I just had one great day on the water.. High Blue Bird Skys and little to no wind Made it alot of fun for me.. Fished from 12:00pm to 4:00pm, I had to take out the Big Blue Tanker after having some work done to it to test it out before my trips this weekend and really glad I did. Over 25 fish all Keepers, 50% Spots and 50% Smallies and really nice size to them, just really depends on where you were fishing.. All on 45 degree banks with larger rock... And of course all on the 3/4 ounce football Jig in PB&J colors with a speed craw in green pumpkin, nothing different. Tried wiggle wart, but just had to pickup the jig again.. Depth was all over the place but still shallow for this lake and time frame 15 - 35 feet on the bottom. Some came with a tick but some came as just the good old heavy feeling.. Man you gotta love these days.. Get out and give it a try, looks like Turkey day will be just as nice.. Have fun I have to go on the other side and chase those sliver guys.. Don't eat too much!!! Martin Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Don, I live at the lake, but don't get the time to go alot, but I've been breaking away from work as often as I can in the late afternoons. The spinnerbait in the cedars has been on the downswing for me, but yesterday and today, the crankbiat bite has saved the day. Well, saved the hour. lol. I rarely get more then 1 1/2 hours on the water. Yesterday, I had more time and went out at 2:00. Not a bite for 2 hours on the SB.. Went to the crankbait and moved in close. Like - boat in 5 to 6 feet of water, fishing parallel. Started catching Kentuck's and smallies WAY up shallow......Gotta bang that crank on the bottom to get bit. Some of the prettiest smalljaws I've ever seen. Make you crankbait look like a big orange crawdad and you should get bit. Now, this is like from 4:00 till dark. It might work all day. Wish I had time to test it. lol. I guess I should get out the jig. Don't forget the big orange crawdad CB !!
Gone Fishing Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Great report guys. Finally getting to go out tomorrow for the first time in over a month. Don, just wondering if your fish had started moving into the creeks or are you still catching them on main lake stuff. And have you been having any wart action. Thanks

I have heard that the crankbait bite is on up around the James River area anything in crawfish colors, brown, orange or green craw.. If no wind then go to the jig.. Good Luck and have some fun..
