Wayne SW/MO
The ones I've used were either Garlands or some unnamed bulk. Both seem to work equaly well. I don't know if ya'll are aware of the fact that Bobby Garlands passed away. A fellow named Ned Rutledge, I believe, is doing the lures now. He's in Lakeview also. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members snkcstutz
Duckystripe- you made mention to Bobby Garland Bait Company. What is the webpage to view these minnows online. I have had trouble locating it. Thanks! Shane
Wayne SW/MO
I don't think there is one. His brother was doing the Gitzits and he had a site, but I heard it was either sold or for sale. You might search for the Gitzit site and see if he handled the Swimming Minnow. Here's a site that you can order from. I haven't been in it in a while so I don't know they're selection, but Don probably does. http://www.tablerocktackle.com/page1.htm Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman. Bittle
I found this website in Tennessee that has Bobby Garland Custom Baits. http://www.usbass-tn.com/612560.html The only bad thing is you can't order online. I emailed the guy about purchasing some of the baits and he responded within hours so it wouldn't take long to make a transaction. The website has photos of the baits as well as the color selection. The prices are also on the page per 20 minnows. Hope this helps too. I know last year we did real well on the electric chicken color. Members petertherock
Fellows, I don't know if they're still there but the Old Sinclair Station up at Crossroads between Cape Fair & Galena just past Walnut Springs had boat-loads of the swimmin minnows, in numerous colors. The owner was also tying his own custom Roadrunner jigs in a variety of colors for the white bass run up the James. The last time I was there though was five years ago! It might be worth checkin' out though! If they're still in business. I know doggone area has changed much in five years! petertherock
Members snkcstutz
Guys, Thanks for the info! Hopefully this weekend will make for some better fishing for some of us . Got all these buddies catching all kinds of fish, and we have struggled. I think we have thrown every color of swimming minnows, and size. Think we will try the Cape area again. Good luck! Members Wildside88
Just stopped by Fin & Feather and they have about any color you would want. Got some of the smoke with metal flake and talked to a guy who had been going over to Grand lake in OK and he said that they where using a yellow and white color, so I picked up a bag of them also. I was thinking about taking a ride over to Grand, was told that they are catching them where the Spring river and the Osage feeds into the lake. Has anyone on here ever fished there and where would be a good place to put in. I only have a small flat bottom with a small out board and a electic trolling motor, so I would like to put in close to where the fish would be (a short trip is a long ride in my boat).
