DaddyO Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 I'm thinking about going Saturday Morning. I'll call you if I do. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
Danimal Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 I plan on heading that way in the morning. Not sure yet where I'm going to fish. How bout you guys? Dan-o RELEASE THOSE BROWNIES!!
Zach Bearden Posted December 20, 2008 Author Posted December 20, 2008 Was thinking Sunday morning Marval or river access, Maybe T&M? Tell me if either of you will be down Sunday and I'll fish with you. I don't know what time I will be home on Saturday but maybe i'll be home in time to get a bit in. Turns out I have to head up to Tulsa Saturday morning. I guess I could always go and bug Butch up at D&B lol. "Its clearly Bree time baby!" Member: 2009 U.S. Youth Fly-Fishing Team. DaddyO Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 "Best laid plans of mice and men often go awry." And thus did my plans go awry also. I'll have to try for another time. Maybe next weekend for the OneFly if I can get away. Zach, what are the rules for the OneFly? You told me it's a $5 entry fee, but, then what? Is it like the name implies, you only fish with 1 fly? DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
Danimal Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 I'll be at Marval in an hour. I plan on hiking downriver about 1/2mile or so to where it cuts to the right. I'll post a report later. Dan-o RELEASE THOSE BROWNIES!!
Okieflyfisher53 Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 DaddyO, I can answer your question about the One Fly, since I've fished a few. The Talequah club furnishes the flies. You pay your $5 and they give you a fly, which is the only fly that you can use in the tournament. The $5 entry fee also gets you a lunch of good home-made chili. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend this one since I have a family thing to attend that day. Steve
Danimal Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Got 12 to the net. A couple in the 14 inch range. Ran into a couple of guys tossing lures who had 2 fish on a stringer that looked to be about 16 inches long. All in all a good day (but cold). Dan-o RELEASE THOSE BROWNIES!!
Zach Bearden Posted December 21, 2008 Author Posted December 21, 2008 You can buy as many as you would like. Bring a tape measure as we have a "biggest fish" category. If you catch a fish with another fly it does not count. "Its clearly Bree time baby!" Member: 2009 U.S. Youth Fly-Fishing Team. DaddyO Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Thanks for the report Dan-O. Zach, does everybody use the same fly pattern or do you choos which one you want to use? DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
