Bman Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 My son Matt wasn't able to make my Taney trip so he went to the park monday, and he was glad he did. He gave his new net a good breaking in, (a Christmas present from me, so I get MINE BACK!!! ) Matt caught this 25" pig, and was glad he had his running shoes on! this sow went bonkers when hooked...jumping, running upstream & down, across and back. Matt said he was using a secret egg pattern I taught him, with a small scud or wd40 trailer. Thanks to Matt Buckley for the photos! Matt, if you see this post maybe you can elaborate. The only good line is a tight line
laker67 Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Bman, Congrats to your son Matt. It's always good luck to buy something new like the net, or a reel, or a new fly rod, etc. That's what I tell my wife everytime. What color did you say that egg was?
Bman Posted January 1, 2009 Author Posted January 1, 2009 Thanks, The color of the egg pattern I taught him was closest to peach than anything else. The material needed is no longer available, I bought up as much as I could. The only good line is a tight line
Members B-unit Posted January 2, 2009 Members Posted January 2, 2009 Thanks to Matt Buckley for the photos! Matt, if you see this post maybe you can elaborate. Glad I could help out, Bruce, although I'm now considering the Murphy's Law factor regarding fishing and cameras: it seems as if the whoppers can sense when you aren't carrying your camera... Your son executed one of the finest expedited river crossings that I think I've ever seen to land that fish. Faster, deeper water with gnarly rocks strewn about but the rod tip stayed up and the felt side stayed down. Despite her girth, that fish was quite a jumper, adding to the spectacle. Congrats to Matt.
