Stopped at Backcountry Outfitters and met Michael to get one of those big eggs he had pictured from Thursday night. It was great to meet you Michael. It's always nice to meet the people you read about and learn from. Got in the water just below #1 at 8:15 as they turned off the water at 8. The bite was awesome! I started with olive streamers and almost every other cast was a hook up. I kept thinking about that egg but kept throwing what was working....caught close to 30 fish when I could see the lightning in the far distance. I knew the cold front was coming so I thought I'd better try that egg. Caught lots more on the egg! Michael, I used the technique that you suggested and those bows tried to swallow it! I never made it to the location you told me to try as I was hooking up regular. I never made it down to #2 either like I usually like to do. All the fish were bows, no browns with the largest being about 18". The front came through about 11 so I put on rain jacket and kept at it. There was lightning so I thought better of holding a 9' lightning rod in the water so I went up to the pavilion and met Duckydoty for the first time....great to meet you too!

I don't care what they say about the eggs.....I'm keeping and using mine! :D

It was nice to meet you, Gary. Happy you had an exceptional night of fishing!!

Wish the lightning would have held off for a few more casts. Duckydoty and I made the trek down to the Rebar Hole a little after 9pm, water was still dropping. I drifted eggs and caught a couple nice bows~one around 16", with a lot of fight. Had several LDR (long distance releases) immediately followed by a few choice words. Caught one small brown, about 12", below #2. All in all, it was a fun night of fishing.

Then we were off to Lilley's Landing for a much needed weekend of R&R. I'm telling you guys, Phil Lilley and his family are very hospitable and Lilley's Landing is an extremely comfortable place to spend a few peaceful days.

Needless to say, duckydoty and I didn't get in any more fishing over the weekend ;) . Thanks again Phil for a great honeymoon weekend!!!!!

The two best times to go fishing? When it is raining and when it is not.

Gary it was great to meet you as well.

I am glad the BFE worked Like I told you and I am pretty sure everyone on here that knows me knows that I am a streamer fisherman. If I would have not lost my Mohair leech I would have never tied it on.

I have some very good friends of mine that have talked about doing this for years and when I say years most of them double my age. Just giving them credit for what they have done and discovered.

I know I talk at lot and most of the time the only way people can get me to shut up is to put a rod in my hand and get me fishing but I tend to listen to the older generation and what they have done for years. Sometimes it puts the ace up your sleeve. (BFE,Mohair leech, certain color of scuds) just to name a few.

Anyway I am glad it worked for you I cant wait to get down and fish it again.
