txspecks04 Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Considering a trip this weekend, how are the water conditions looking? Also, are all three zones open to fishing right now? Thanks, tx
timsfly Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I was at the river today, it is still in great shape, it won't change unless we get lots of rain or snow. You can only fish zones 1 and 2 right now, zone 3 is always closed during the C&R season. txspecks04 Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 Just noticed that I had a double post, not sure how that happened. Anyways, how is the snow looking that way? I am about an hour and a half southwest and we have had some but it has probably been less than half an inch...
timsfly Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 No snow, and none expected that I'm aware of. Just bone chilling cold, I'm going to go fish crane in a few minutes, I think it will be quiet down there today. txspecks04 Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 What are the allowable fishing hours for Roaring during C&R? I was thinking 8-4, but I would hate to be wrong and show up too early or too late...
BadKarma Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Getting a light dusting of snow this morning here in Branson. Not expecting any to build up or stay. Good luck. Don't worry about life, your not going to survive it anyway. Go fishing instead.
BadKarma Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Tim, How was Crane? Don't worry about life, your not going to survive it anyway. Go fishing instead.
timsfly Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Crane was fun yesterday nobody around, caught several. The park is fishing great this morning, very cold a light dusting of snow, nothing to make driving dangerous, or anything, but it is pretty. Saw 2 eagles one in a tree by the lodge, and one down by the fish cleaning station, where I started fishing. I only caught 5 trout this morning, very cold, cleaned the rod tip out several times, the ice kept building up on the tip and the first 3 eyes, the fish are very active today, maybe the cooler temps makes them more frisky, of course the water in the park doesn't change much for the first few miles, but maybe the trout just like the cooler weather as do I. It was 5 when I got to the shop this morning. Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
