Jason Essary Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Anyone have any ideas on what these cold temps will do to the deep bite. Thoughts of going sunday and was wondering if the temps might drop the water temp some and kill some of the shad, or is tablerock still to warm? Or might run over to upper bull to give those a try? Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 17, 2009 Root Admin Posted January 17, 2009 I wouldn't think this cold spell could warm 43-45 degree water down to mid 30's that quick. These cold spells just aren't that long.
focused fishing Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Phil is right. It will take a longer cold spell to drop the water into the 30's and produce a good shad kill. There may be some areas in the backs of major creeks and up the rivers cold enough but the overall temp will likely stay warm and the shad will likely move to warmer water closer to the channel.
