this morning me and a friend went crappie fishing at a little lake out by my house.when we got there i had caught three nice crappie on the first three casts.on the fourth cast i had on a fish i was sure was a crappie but when it got about 20ft from the bank and just stopped then it took off and about broke my line.my friend said i just probably had a little bass on.i was joking around and told him something bigger probably ate my crappie like the sharks do in the ocean.just then a huge bass came up,with my crappie in its mouth.it spit it out but i did get my crappie.it was about 9 1/2 inches long so it had to be a huge bass.anyways this had never happened to me before and probably wont again.i was pretty excited so i thought i would share it.

Same thing happened to me on a small pond in north Missouri- catching small crappie and got broke off twice by big bass taking the crappie as I was reeling them in. Never saw the bass but I'm sure that's what it was. I've been up there twice since and still can't catch those devils. Will try again this spring.

I have had this happen at least twice up north catching Yellow Perch and a northern comes up and eats the perch. My Dad can't even recall how many times it has happened to him.

The same golf course bass pond Phil and I fished a few years back, I had a bluegill hooked on a popper that got swallowed up by a big 4-5lb bass.. so I was hooked to the bluegill that had eaten my fly / then attached to a bass who was wanting my bluegill.

I fought the pair for quite a few seconds, and under the pressure - the bass let go and my bluegill was then flung behind me. So I did what any fisherman normally does : I flipped it over my shoulder right back out to where the commotion just took place.

You guessed it! The bass hit the bluegill again and the fight was on.

This time the bass let go a little sooner, but it was the craziest thing I had seen in a while.
