Just out of curiosity, what do you wear in your waders to stay toasty?

Don't worry about life, your not going to survive it anyway. Go fishing instead.

I wear a pair of the Cabela's fleece wader liners in a mid weight. In the winter I might wear hiking socks instead of the standard tube socks. It is normally easy to keep the areas below the water warm, the water is always ~50 degrees. It is the stuff above the water that is exposed to the elements that needs attention.

Polypropylene top and bottoms and then fleece bottoms over that. A fleece jacket and typically another jacket over the fleece deepending on the air temp. The purpose is to layer properly so you stay warm, but are able to wick moisture from your body at the same time to keep you dry thereby staying warm and not clammy. Polypropylene, fleece and silk are all good wicking fabrics. I just can't bring myself to wear silk underwear though.... :D

I'm thinking you don't know what you're missing Dano! ^_^

Dont wear anything cotton nest to your body. I wear underarmor tops and bottoms with wool socks and one or two fleece pullovers and maybe a breathable windbreaker. usually the underarmor bottoms are enough for me to stay warm low. I also have fleece fingerless gloves that can be made into mittens.

I have silk undies (yeah, Dano... you don't know what your missin'...) and poly over that. The fleece wader pants are nice, too, but I'm usually good with just jeans over the silk and poly. I don't wear anything but regular socks when wading since the stocking feet seem to do just fine in my Chotas and 55 deg water.

i usually just wear a pair of Patagonia or Simms wading socks (they keep my feet nice and war) nylon wind pants and in the winter time my LL Bean neoprene waders. in the summer, i wear hodgeman breathables.

for upper body, an under layer of t shirt, mock turtleneck, windproof type jacket (think golf style pullover) that will usually keep me warm.

i dont get cold too easy (extra padding and all that) so i very seldom wear gloves.

You are so stupid you threw a rock at the ground and missed.

Fleece Top or Patagonia Puff

Gore Tex Rain Jacket

Breathable Waders

On Top

Hat or Baclava (most important piece of gear to keep you warm)

Neck Gaiter or Scarf.only when its really cold

Gloves-2 pair and rotate

Fingerless Fleece to fish in

Gore Tex Ski Gloves for when I'm paddling or walking from spot to spot

Towel to dry hands in between glove changes

Here's a pic from a February float on the Current a couple years ago..temp was around 5 degrees and it was windy. I was pretty comfy considering.

Just bought a one piece fleece zip up thinga ma bobber! Stayed at Phil's the week after xmas and while the wife and daughters were shopping in the outlet mall, my son and I went into the Coleman outlet store. That had Ducks Unlimited 2 piece and 1 piece fleece that were 30%, so they were $13! They work great! Only had size large and I really needed an XL, but they work.
