mizzouflyfisher
I'm looking for some insight on a good days fishing. Don't care for what, just fun. It's 6 am, and right now I'm on the 13th straight hour in the law library finishing my 30 page brief which is 90% of my grade for the course and I won't be leaving for at least another 4 (brief's due at 10 and I ain't goin nowhere). I'm thinking tomorrow I'm gonna have a few drinks , but Saturday will find me somewhere where it's wet and cool. Any input on what's fishing good would be appreciated. If all else fails I'll run down and fish the current. By the way, thanks for the b-day wishes. Hopefully I'll be able to get down to Taney a couple of days next week during Spring break. CaptainT16
Oh yeah, I remember those college days 3 years ago, I actually kind of miss them. On the account of your paper though, I don't miss it. You definitely deserve a few drinks and some fishing time. We are headed to Taney tomorrow and Sunday, so will get you a report for next week. Good luck on the paper and have fun this weekend.....You deserve it! Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 24, 2006 Root Admin Share Posted March 24, 2006 I assume you're in Columbia... I'd head to Truman Tailwater. I've always had good luck just catching fish there- crappie, whites, walleye. The report is it's not great but all 3 are being caught to some degree. Stop in and talk to the people at the Station. I'd take an ultralite and go for crappie and whites and if a big walleye or hybrid takes the bait, well you're in for a treat.
Randall
truman tailwater is fun, but the fishing there is kind of spotty for us when we go down. if they're running water, the fishing is great, but if they aren't, i have trouble catching. i was thinking about doing some trout fishing this weekend, but i'm afraid the rivers are still up. i'd check out the level of the current before you drive all the way down there. there's also thomas hill reservior if you want to fish for crappie whites and hybrids. some of my buddies told me it was producing pretty well, but they were in a boat and i didn't go. good luck with the brief. Cute animals taste better.
