fishinSWMO Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I Had things to do early, so I got to the creek about 1:00 today. Started working my way upstream, fishing a xrap at any sign of deeper water. There was a lot of shallow water and it turned into a walk. Finally found a deep hole, just about the time I should think about heading back to get the boy off the bus. Made a few casts with the jerkbait but no takers. Put on a tube and made 2 casts and hooked up with a decent bass. Took a few pics and had to start walking back. It was a nice day to be out fishing. Jeremy Dodson
fishinSWMO Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 I do know there are both spots and smallies in this creek. Not sure about the hybrids. Jeremy Dodson
msamatt Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Nice spot. I throw suspending jerkbaits alot this time of year as well but sometimes catch more fish on the tube or hair-jig. You have to be willing to switch up. Pretty great being able to get out in a t-shirt in the middle of January! patfish Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 FSWMO, that is wicked cool and thanks for sharing. Nice January elixir....
Buzz Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Nice fish. I wish I'd been away from work on a day like this. Thanks for the picture. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
