I am looking to get out and do some trout fishing saturday. Is roaring river going to be all screwed up due to the recent winter weather as it begins to melt?

I don't think it will be messed up this weekend, even with all the ice and stuff, it won't

melt fast enough to muddy the river, now it might come up a bit, but I don't think it

will hurt a thing, might make it better even, and the fishing has been mighty good.

I talked to one of the park guys today, other than a few limbs down and I think he

said they lost a couple of trees, we made out much better than they did just 20 miles to

the south, poor arkansas really got the brunt of this last storm.

I see you are already looking for an excuse to not to fish this weekend "PSUWill". We all know you are just afraid to test your own hand tied jigs against my masterpieces. Maybe I will give you some more so you can catch some fish too. MAYBE! On a serious note one of my friends from high school might be coming down to fish with us but he fly fishes so he shouldn't get in our way.

Thanks for the information as my father and I were going to head down there on Friday and give it a try. Haven't been to RR for around a year now, so it's time! How are things fishing, anyone have any reports, or what they are liking now? Thanks

I was down there a couple of weekends ago. Things were kinda slow in the morning in Zone 2 but caught a handful of fish on a san juan worm w/ a micro-egg fished under it. Then picked up a few fish on a #20 adams that we rising on the very upper end of Zone 2...

The rest of the day I spent chasing big fish with a san juan worm...did pretty well in Zone 1. My nephews caught lots of fish on a micro-egg in the brown color (trout food)...heh, whatever works.

End of the day I caught several fish at the last hole in Zone 2 on a #20 PMD...lots of fish rising...
