Jeremy Hunt Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Powersite Dam Taneycomo Dam Overview from Dam This is our neighbors house. That tree could have very well went the other way into our home. On highway 14 from 65, going through Lead Hill and Flippin etc, we ran over 16 power lines driving back home from Branson. I've never seen anything like this. Crazy… Accept the drift.....<>>><flysandguides.comVisit my blog
Terry Beeson Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Great shots Jeremy... Truly a reminder of the Christmas Day 2000 ice storm in Texarkana. I'm tellin' ya... If you've never been through one of these storms, you ain't got a clue how devastating they really are. I can still hear trees popping, cracking, and falling... Sounded like a big bomb. Again... the melting will begin... but BE CAREFUL when it does. BIG chunks of ice will fall... Members Trout Predator Posted January 30, 2009 Members Posted January 30, 2009 Reminds me of the storm in NE OK in December of 07. I've never seen anything like that storm, even this storm seems kinda small compared to that.
flyfshn Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 We had one in STL a couple years ago......Terry, you are right on....if you have never been thru one, it is unreal. Hard to sleep when trees are crackig/popping and falling. Hope all of you are safe! Just snow here in STL Fish On! Mike Utt “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. DD'sMC Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Great photos! Thanks for sharing. Driving to Fayetteville from Roaring River on Friday, I could not believe the damage. It truly looked like a very large bomb had gone off, from Rogers to Fayetteville to Goshen. It will be a long time before the trees and, of course, the residents, recover from this storm. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. The two best times to go fishing? When it is raining and when it is not.
