Roaring River In Great Shape

Water is in good shape, it has come up a bit but not much and was very clear when I left at 3:30, fishing was pretty good today, caught a nice 4lber this morning on a bunny bug

and a few down at dry hollow on a chamois worm.

I broke out my new (new to me) Orvis Mighty mite bamboo fly rod 5' of fun, I wanted to break it in using a dry fly, the trout were rising real good up by the hatchery.

I put on a small reel I had in the car, I think it had a 5wt fly line on it, and put me on a 9' leader a #18 griffiths gnat and had a good time, caught 5 on the griffiths gnat,

and then I put on a small micro egg, in yellow and caught another 5 or 6 before calling a day, this was the biggest on the griffiths gnat, he was a blast to catch on the

small bamboo fly rod, and he was #3 the first two were about 1/2 the size o this one if you laid both of them end to end.

Nice one Tim. Did you catch him further down stream, or before we got there?

Tim, I think I saw you putting the little rod together today at the top bridge parking lot. I did well also.

duckydoty, I caught it in the afternoon, I didn't see your car when I came back from the shop, maybe you were

downstream, I caught it right up by the hatchery, that little hole always has some good dry fly fishing in the

afternoons.

Catman, I started right there by the bridge by the hatchery, I fished there till about 3:30 and headed home.
