Finally I got to fish with my wife today. We had a great time at RR. Conehead is in town from Pa. and he also joined us on the river. My wife and I both caught quite a few fish on bead head nymphs. I was fishing without an indicator and she was fishing with one. Before it was all over, DD'sMC was also fishing without an indicator and doing very well. I did fish with a T&A Rainbow for a while and did catch one that went about 5 lbs. I also caught another nice fish on the bead head nymphs and got a photo of it. Conehead was doing well also. I saw him catching quite a few on dry flies.

We also ran into Tim down there. There was lots of ice on the bank and a few places were very slippery. Good day to be out fishing with a very uncrowded park.

I guess we missed meeting everyone there on Friday. My father and I fished RR on Friday mostly in the pools there right below the hatchery. We did pretty well, or I guess I should say that I did pretty good...sorry dad! Fished all day long and had a great time. I was amazed at how many browns were in the river and that I actually caught. I ended up landing 5-6 Browns that day and always a bonus to catch them. Here is a pic of the biggest that I caught that day. You can't miss where I caught it with the background! :D It was hiding in the fast moving water right underneath the first group of falls. Honestly thought I was hung up on a rock and then it got out of that current and I finally saw it wasn't a rock and was amazed as that's my personal biggest trout so far. Was taken on small peach egg fly. Hooked another one that was deep and did not want to come up at all and ended up breaking off before I got a look at it.

My father and I ended up meeting Conehead at Taney right before dark Friday. We fished for a bit that night but had no luck, with water running. If you are reading this, thanks again for the egg flies you gave us! Caught a few on them on Saturday at Taney. All in all it was a great, much needed trout trip to MO.

Hey,

I saw you and your father there. Conehead, DD'sMC and I were fishing just above you most of the day. You guys gave me the impression that you were doing very well. Seems like everytime I looked over there, you had a fish on. Looks like you caught a nice one too. I did catch a couple of browns up where I was fishing also. One looked like a female full of eggs. She might have just been really fat????

I just looked at your picture again in full size. Thats me and DD'sMC in the background!

Yeah... I know that'd Duane... He's holding up a trout food pellet and one of his trained fish is about to jump out of the water and grab it out of his hands...

(And you guys thought he was a fly fisherman... :P:lol: )

The two best times to go fishing? When it is raining and when it is not.
