loo10 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I'm a bbq guy so I have to say Arthur Bryants in KC. I ALWAYS find time to go when I'm "in the neighborhood". Or should I just say "HOOD"????? strangercreek Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 I'm a bbq guy so I have to say Arthur Bryants in KC. I ALWAYS find time to go when I'm "in the neighborhood". Or should I just say "HOOD"????? Bryant's is good, especially the original location down on Brooklyn Ave, it just seems like that location is better. I am also a fan of Gate's, Zarda, Smokin Joes, OK, I guess I'm having BBQ for lunch tomorrow. I work downtown the majority of the time and need a shock collar to stay away from the BBQ BBQ and an ice cold root beer, hard to beat.
Zack Hoyt Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Strangecreek, I love Smokin Joes. We have three within driving distance!! When I was back in Harrison it was the Dairy Diner on the way to the Buffalo. I don't know if it was the food or anticipation of getting on the water, but I always enjoyed eating there. Also eating a big greasy breakfast at Big Daddy's before hitting the creek or the river. When i am headed to Beaver Lake, its a tradition to stop at the gas station in Garfield and get a huge ice cream cone. Uaually it is about the perfect size to be finished upon arriving at the cabin. Members HillbillyJim Posted March 3, 2009 Members Posted March 3, 2009 Hey Hillbilly... Is Chicken Annies or Mary's still good in Pittsburg?? Bill YES....when I go home to see the folks, I usually get my chicken and onion ring fix done at one of those establishments....there are also two other good places around that area to get fried chicken, one is Gebhardt's (about two miles out in the country further that Annies and Mary's) and Barto's, which is in the little town of Frontenac.........good stuff!
