Members Crocker Boy Posted February 23, 2009 Members Posted February 23, 2009 Looking to buy a snagging rod and reel setup. If you have one you are interested in parting with, let me know. Thanks.
Seth Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Are you looking for a broomstick setup or a surf rod setup? Also how much are you willing to pay? The reason I ask is because you can find a decent snagging setup for pretty dang cheap brand new. My buddies dad's setup is a $20 Shakespeare Alpha spinning reel from Walmart and a $35 12' XH surf rod from DJ's in St. James and he has some 65 pound braided line on it. He's used it for years and has landed many paddlefish on it.
Members Crocker Boy Posted February 23, 2009 Author Members Posted February 23, 2009 I might just look into that. I was just seeing if there were any deals out there. I am just tired of borrowing someone elses to go. Thanks.
ekl-stl Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 Are you planning to snag from a boat on lakes or in rivers, or from the shore.

ekl-stl Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 From the shore, good.. We have been running the same set ups for the last 10 years or so... We use 10 and 12 foot Ugly Stick ocean rods and large Penn spinning reels..This combo is stout and works well for river bank fishing... We have broke several Ugly Sticks over the years but they will replace them with a receipt for the cost of shipping.
