Seth Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I'll be there. I'm trying to find a couple other poor souls to go along who have never fished an opening day before. May the Lord be with them if they do go.
Members Dano Posted February 25, 2009 Members Posted February 25, 2009 I'll be there. I'm trying to find a couple other poor souls to go along who have never fished an opening day before. May the Lord be with them if they do go. I will be down for opening day. Have not missed one in 30 years and is always fun, I can still remember my first one and if you have never been there, You are in for a real treat. The weather forcast keeps going back and forth. Will just have to wait and see how it goes. See everyone down there and best of luck. Dano

Seth Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 Well it sounds like the girlfriend and her dad are for sure going with me. My ol man hasn't gave me a for sure answer yet and neither has one of my buddies. Who's ready for a stale donut?
Seth Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 Looks like it's going to be a chilly one in the morning. Weather.com says it will feel like 7* at 6am and 10* at 9am. BRRRRR!!!! My girlfriend is not going to like that one bit...LOL. No waders for tomorrow. I'll be decked out in the camo bibs and parka and camo stocking hat.
Members Dano Posted March 1, 2009 Members Posted March 1, 2009 Well it is definetly going to be cold for sure. At this posting 25 witj a wind chill of 11 degrees. They a lnch or two of snow on the ground. Wind whipping it pretty good too. The road for most are clear and a few slick spots. The stream looks up and not clear on friday. I did not make it down on saturday Just be careful in the morning. Good luck to all and catch a big one. Dano
Seth Posted March 2, 2009 Author Posted March 2, 2009 We didn't catch any big ones, but did both bring back a limit. My girlfriend handled the cold much better than I had anticipated. It didn't feel nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I think I landed 7 before I kept my fourth fish and she kept the first four that she caught so she could go back to the truck and sit in the warmth. Had a great time and sounds like she really enjoyed her first opening day also. Trout are cleaned going to be fried up here directly....mmm...mmm....good.
