I am going down this weekend and I have read on the Weavers tackle website that they are biting on flies. I dont use a fly rod so I am wondering what flies I can use on my spinning reel. What is the best setup. I think I have used a beadhead?? in the past with success. Are there others?

If you're using a spin cast rod and reel you can use flies!! Just alittle readjustment needs to happen.

First, I'd use 2 lb line. It's easier to handle the lighter rig.

Using a small float, throw some beadhead nymphs - copper johns, zebra midge, small jigs in earth colors like brown, black, olive, sculpin. Or throw a jig straight- no float- 1/32nd oz - and work it up and let it drop in the deeper holes. If you get good at working a jig, you're set for life! All types of fish can't resist a jig.

Hope this helps!! When you do to the parks, and this report helps you catch more fish, please share the forum with others.

Depends on the depth of water. Set it 12 inches off the bottom.

Lilly is right on with what he said.

I might add that the mini jigs under an indicator work great also.

Try the "john deere" or the white floss mini's. also set about 12 inches from the bottem.

I've seen guys (myself included) use a clear bobber and flie underneath them. It works really well and the bobber adds a little weight to help with the cast. Hope you catch lots of fish
