So I heard that Sportsman's Warehouse is in financial trouble and is closing almost half of their stores. I called the Rogers Sportsman's and sure enough they are closing sometime in late April/early May. Kind of a bummer since I liked that store and it was only minutes from my house. Kind of good because I will save some money now!

Where do you guys buy your stuff around here? I know McLellan's down in f'ville is good for fly stuff. What about other tackle stores?

That's a bummer...I liked that store. Keep us posted on their close-out sales!

thats awful. That is a good tackle store. There are several other good stores in the area though. For bass tackle, Hook Line and Sinker is great. Aaron Jollif that runs it is a super nice guy. Also, I went to Rogers Outdoor Sports and they have a good tackle selection too. For fly fishing, Southtown Sporting goods is ok, no shop has as good a selection as Sportsmans Warehouse had, except for Mcllelans in Fayetteville.

I do my shopping at Southtown - fly fishing stuff at McClellans. There's another place on South School...maybe that's Hook Line and Sinker. Not sure what the name is, but it's run by a really nice couple, so I imagine it's the same one sfiser is describing. Is Sportsman's Warehouse going to have a close-out sale?

Hook Line and Sinker is in downtown Rogers on the way to Prairie Creek. It's not a couple, but Aaron Joliff. There is another Hook Line and Sinker location in Bella Vista at 71 and County Road 40. Good selection, nice folks. Mostly bass fishing tackle.

Okay, I've got the wrong place. There's another store in South Fayetteville. It's on 71 just south of 15th st. I believe. It's run by an older (than me) gentleman and his wife. He builds all of his spinnerbaits, but he might sell war eagle and strike king as well...not sure about that. He's also got a huge room in the back with crates and crates of soft plastics. Many of these appear to be discontinued or hand poured plastics. It's a neat place with pretty good prices, but he doesn't take plastic.

I grabbed 40 flies for $35. Flies were 20% off. Rods and reels are 10%. Total madness there.

Madness already? The lady told me they will be open until end of April! Over the past few weeks I haven noticed that they have already been out of stock on tons of stuff! I can't imagine how much worse it is going to be.

That store has some of the better selection of fishing supplies towards my likings but it is sad to see that store go down since is was just recently built not too long ago. I snatched a 7'4" shimano crucial the other day for $99 when it is usually retailed for around $150.

Might have to drop by there in the next few weeks to get the most out of it before it really is gone.
