Most of the park lunkers are just worn out old broodstock fish that have been milked, pretty much just mishandled. Once they reach a certain size the quality and fertility of their eggs really decline.

I realize this has to be done but some that hit the water, bank, rocks, whatever are on the verge of dying when they are stocked. My buddies and I always refer to the park bo bo's as mush meat anyway...I know alot of people like them, myself...smoked is about the only way I have found them to be very good eatin at all.

It's said you are what you eat...growing up on 'Trout Chow' makes for pellet meat..no comparison to a trout that has been in the stream for awhile. jmho
