Well, technically it may not be spring but, it is close enough. It is time for a get together float. Lets get the planning started. Lets get the stretch of river picked that we want to do. Also, we need to pick a date. No, not who you are going to bring with you but, what day we want to do this.

So don't post, "Well, I am open. I really don't care where or when we fish."

WE need a float and a date with your post.

I'll say Mt. Malang to Tipton Ford access. The first Saturday in April.

I think the 1st Saturday in April is the Taneycomo Clean-up??? :(

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

The two best times to go fishing? When it is raining and when it is not.

Just Kiddin'. I would like to throw the Lime Kiln to Pieline float out as a possibility. Last time we fished it the water was running at a pretty good clip, but still caught some nice fish. As far as dates go, I am open to either the 28th or the 4th.. I will have to check with the warden to see if anything is scheduled for whatever date we choose. I'm sure I can get a day pass.LOL

Speaking of the creek; I stopped by Tipton Ford bridge yesterday and caught a couple of keeper sized smallmouth and one really nice goggle-eye. I might post the picture tonight.

If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

March 28th. I like the Idea of Lime Kiln to Pipeline by Buzz.

Someone on here swears that the state record goggle-eye resides in Shoal Creek. I don't know if that is true, but they do get big.

This picture is to help inspire everyone to join the float. :D

Fishin I think you are right. Buzz and I have had great success on that section. Buzz and I spoke about this evening while we were tossing a line in and I agree, it is a better section than what I said. So I will throw my hat in on that one too.

Buzz, it was CDC that told us that about the goggle eye. It was when we unknowingly run into him and his cousin on our Ritchey-Granby float.

And speaking of goggle eye, on our October float last year, we had one spot where we lined up like opening day at Roaring River and caught the dickens out of them.

Thats a nice one Buzz!

My son Andrew has been talking about trying to catch the next state record goggleye. We plan on taking several float and camp weekends so he can try all he wants.

You are right Chief, we had lines getting crossed in all the action in that one hole.

Wow this thread took off in a hurry,

I think March 28th sounds good (actually doesn't really matter but that seems to be working for everyone else) and I too like the Lim Kiln to Pipeline float. I have never floated that section before either.

It was I indeed that said a state record goggle eye had to be in the creek. I pulled a 2 pounder out of Cherry corner about 8 years ago...at the time the record was only 2 pounds 8 oz. FishinSWMO, I hope you son catches it but if not I am sure you will have a great time watching him try.
