Members booger90 Posted March 20, 2009 Members Posted March 20, 2009 i was wondering where the fish mostly stay. i fished crane today and then decided to go see what jolly mill looked like but i didnt see one rainbow trout and what are the regulations i didnt even see a board of what they are
ollie Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Capps is a "white ribbon" stream according to MDC. Limit daily 4 with a mix of browns and bows, but the browns have to be over a certain length. Not sure on length due to I don't keep any at all. The stream only got one stocking this past winter as far as I know. Slim pickins unless you know where that at! Look in the deeper holes and you should be able to pull out one here and there. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
mhall02 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 You probabally won't see any, unless the stocking truck just stopped by. As mentioned by Ollie, look for the deeper bluish green water or the riffles.

I urge you not to keep any fish our of Crane as this fish already has a hard time and Crane's a wild stream, no stocking trucks coming by. Capps is a little different, a daily limit of four, and only one can be a Brown, not to mention that the Brown has to be 15' to keep. No size limit on rainbows. Good luck, I think that you'll find more and bigger fish at Capps than Crane, you just have to discover the holes. Travis
