Got another trip today. We're staying on Taney. Next time.

I backed out and didn't go today - the wind is 18 mph gusting up to 25, and my aluminum boat acts like a sailboat in those conditions.

A week ago I went on a windy day, and I burned up the ground wire and plug that my trolling motor plugs into. I replaced those, but I had a boat mechanic look at it to make sure I had the right gauge wire and everything else right. Everything's OK, but the mechanic explained that the ground wire and plug heat up a little during operation - and when the trolling motor's run continuously on high speed hour after hour (as I did in the wind), it doesn't have a chance to cool and the plug and insulation will finally melt. So, I don't want to do that again.

So far, tomorrow looks better. The forecast is 8 to 11 mph wind from the SW, and if that holds up I'll be out there.

I might have been right on... but I didn't believe myself. -_-

I took a couple of guys (clients) this pm. Trolled above Swan for a while, boated down to Barker and looked for some deep crappie, drifted with minnows again above Swan for walleye and then ended the evening in Swan. Caught one male at Barker, 3 male whites below the bridge in Swan plus 2 smallies. Saw one guy on the bank leave with maybe 8-9 whites on a stringer (bet it took him most of the afternoon to get those).

Few boats out today considering... they knew something I didn't. But I had to try. Trout on Taney was slow and I had an itch. I think NO WIND was the biggest draw.

Tomorrow's another day! Good luck Sam.

Sorry for the late report. A friend and I fished Bull Shoals below K dock area on Friday March 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and got 2 limits of 12-16" Crappie. We also fished Saturday. The weather was bad. We had 9 12-16" Crappie. The fish were between 4 and 6 feet deep. We cought them all on white and chartrouse jigs.

Swan was on tonight... 14 big fish from 5:30 till dark right below the bridge in the mouth. Few fish on gold shinner rouge and the rest on white slider. Dark they shut off but good sign that these fish might bite for a couple weeks.
