Members kscatman Posted March 29, 2009 Members Posted March 29, 2009 Hi everyone, We are going to be headed down there to fish from a boat and from the docks this coming thursday thru sunday. I"m trying to figure this generation thing out on the chart. It looks to me like they have been running 2 units the past couple of days and then shutting it down at night? I see the charts, just was hoping someone could tell me what is really happening so I can figure the chart out. Thanks, Travis
DoveTail Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 I have logged on their website the morning I am going to fish and when I get there, it is NOTHING like they predict. I understand there are various demands for electricity and if there is a power grid problem some other place, that may create immediate demand and mess up all their plans. So from what I have seen, it doesn't matter what the charts have been or what they are predicting - it usually doesn't set a trend.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 30, 2009 Root Admin Posted March 30, 2009 I look at them more now than I ever used to. Yea- they're off sometimes but sometimes they are not. Today they ran 2 units most of the day- ran alittle more this am and less in the pm. I see tomorrow they say 3 units first thing, then down to 2 and then 1 unit. I bet that's close- fits the pattern. Wish it wasn't... I'd like to see 1-2 units all day instead of 3 early. That's just me...
FRENZEL Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 I have been trying to keep up with them. They are more often than not at least a little helpful. Seems like that 1st half an hour they slow it down the bigger fish have really turned on for me.. My problem is the last few times has been right at the end of the trip. Thanks for the updates guys. we are so excited to come down that we could wet ourselves. we will be in a boat the whole time, although we like to fish off the dock at night as well. don't plan to be in the trophy area at all, last time if they ran water hard we just ran down to monkey island and did real well out of the current. we aren't bait fisherman either. just throw trout magnets almost exclusively. thanks again, travis

The creator himself has also been on Taney and had a good time, from what I understand using the magnet exclusively. Good luck to you!
Bman Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 With 2+ units ya oughta take a trip up to the Dam! The section from below the MDC ramp to Look Out Pt fishes well with Lilleys jigs. Use 4lb test. And the narrows just up from Fall Creek (on the left heading upstream) just up from the overhead power lines. tight lines The only good line is a tight line
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 31, 2009 Root Admin Posted March 31, 2009 Example I gave- it blew up in my face today. 3 units all day today. No change in level. Wind blew from all directions, mostly downstream. Again, the hottest drift was over the flats at the Narrows (where they're working on the bank). Dual scuds, #12's in several grays, brown and olive. Had to stand on the trolling motor pointed upstream to keep the bugs on the bottom. Did ok on numbers but the size was small till the last couple of drifts. Table Rock tomorrow.

Is there an informercial on this? Sounds like something that in the fine print says **this product is not actually a magnet and is not representated as such ***trout magnet makes no guarantee about attractiveness for trout ***is know to cause birth defects in the state of california.

I"m from kansas and only get down once a year at best. Just was saying that is what we use all the time so I won't be going up in the trophy area much because it's a soft plastic. we like to throw jigs alot also and used to use those about 100% of the time, but one year i bought these and went thru about 4 packs in one morning and haven't gone back to the jig since. i tight line them and they catch fish like nothing else i've ever used down there and it's like sight fishing. we love to throw rapalas and rogues as well on the bluffs when they are running water, that is a ton of fun to watch them follow that thing to the boat........again, no infomercial for anything, just chatting it up.
