I come from Kansas City to Shell knob.

sometimes i really like to come for just a one night stay or maybe 2 nights.. i might leave friday evening, or saturday morning and come back to kc on sunday afternoon.

My boat is housed in Shell knob.

there are not any "hotel/motels" in Shell knob.

Where is the closest reasonable place for me to stay so that I don't have to sleep in the cuddy on my boat?

I pass by a couple motels in Aurora (the aurora motel), and i see there is a Super 8 in Cassville.

(ideally i'd like to spend < $75-80 per night)

anyone have any other suggestions? i've never stayed in the aforementioned places.

I have stayed in a "resort" close to Campbell point. It is really just a little hotel. It is in good shape, but not a big chain of hotels. I really can't remember the name, but it is on the right side right before you enter the Cambell point State Park.

I Live in Exeter, just outside of Cassville. I think the Super 8 is okay, but that little place I mentioned above has rooms just as well kept and you wouldn't have to drive. If you are looking for something a little nicer, you can stay at the Roaring River Lodge. I'm sure they probably charge a little more than 80 but I really don't know what they charge. I'm sure they have a website. It would be the nicest place for sure around Cassville. If you are only needing a bed and shower, I'd stay at Campbell point and save myself the drive. They really are decent rooms, its not a dive I promise.

If I can find the name, I'll edit my post

Try searching the Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce website. There's no chain motels in Shell Knob, but there's lots of small places locally that have reasonable rates. Kings Inn, Hardman Hollow, etc. It'll keep you right at the lake. Lot of the places include a boat stall so you wouldn't have to take your boat out till you're heading home. Good luck!

i know what place you speak of - campbell point resort - you are right it is not horrible

the problem is that all of these places want a lot more than just 1 or 2 day reservations in the peak of teh summer.

there is pretty much no place in shell knob that wants to rent me a room for a friday and saturday or just a saturday night after June 1st.

I have tried shell knob chamber... they offered me no recommendations for 1 night or weekend rentals in summer's peak.

that's why i asked what was closer between aurora and cassville.

I know there are a couple of cabin type bandb situations over there. One is on needles eye and I am for sure you can get those for two nights. One night is possible out of Kimberling Inn and that is not a very far drive for Shell Knob. Also Berryville and Eureka Springs have lots of lodging that does not require more than 1 night.

thanks bill.

i dont' know what needles eye means, but isn't kimberling city a farther drive from shell knob than cassville?

i've never made the drive, so i dont' know.

and i've never been to berryville or eureka springs - are those closer than cassville or aurora?
