dtrs5kprs Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 1) Seeing a few references to moss. Is this just the regular green slime (rock snot, what have you) or something new this year? 2) Any thoughts on the state of the stickbait bite in 2 weeks? I am finishing up packing /spooling this week and am sort of surprised that bite is still hanging on. Looks like the forecast is for warmer days and nights for the next 6-10. Assume that will push fish off the stick. Thanks as always.
MOBass Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 The moss I found is the same old stuff from Indian to the Dam. I can not speak to other parts of the lake. I can't catch a fish on a stick bait to save my life. I am to the point of hiring a guide next year and asking for the remidial course in stick bait. I am optimistic they will move on to other things in the next week or two.
focused fishing Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 dtrs, Yep the moss we speak of is the "snot moss" on rocks, trees, ends of docks etc..... I don't think the stick bait bite will hold much longer, once water temps get up over 55 degrees we will see other presentations take over. Grubs, split shots, shaky heads, etc are all starting to turn on so it won't be long until the stick bait bite wanes entirely.
