rps Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 For the first time in two weeks I was out Friday evening. Fished two hours and caught two. One was a very full of eggs keeper spot. The other was considerably smaller. Up here the water temp ranged from 53 to 57. The bad news: saw the first snake and the first skidoo of the season. I honestly don't know which I hate more. The guy on the skidoo was not in a wet suit. I was hoping he would fall off until I realized that would create a moral dilemma for me. Would the world be better off if I saved him from hypothermia? This morning, Saturday, I went out with the intention of fishing Eagle Rock to Rock Creek. I ran up and turned into Roaring River mouth. There were 15 boats in the first half mile with at least one on every normal Spring spot. Owl Creek was nearly as full. I know there are several events down lake, but I wasn't expecting that kind of traffic up here. I only fished a couple hours, barely avoided a skunk, and came home. So far this has been a disappointing weekend on many levels.
S&M Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Post deleted for the betterment of the members. As well as my membership on this website. How do I deal with those who ignore the 50 yard encroachment rule?......I show them just how accurate I am with a crank bait!
Whack'emGood Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 As far as the skido is concerned, eat as many as you want. No catch and release for them. No length or creel limit either. "Success builds confidence, and you have to learn to trust your instincts and forget about fishing the way a tournament is supposed to be won. I'm going to fish my style and make it work for me." -KEVIN VANDAM "Confidence is the best lure in your tackle box." -GERALD SWINDLE "A-Rig? Thanks, but no thanks. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)
techo Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I saw one of those today. Tough guy and little girl to be out in this water temp and weather. Tim Carpenter
Jason Essary Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Snakes are just a fun reptile to play with... But PWCs, i have made a homemade lure for them. Couple years ago I took an old Zara Spook, took off the hooks, drilled and added some bb's, and painted it bone white. But that on a 7' spinning rod set-up and start casting were u see them. But for some reason, the pesky things go the other way!!!
