Members David M Posted April 25, 2009 Members Posted April 25, 2009 Hi everybody, I just moved to Springfield MO not to long ago real close to Stockton lake. Ive fished most of my thirty years and usually fared pretty well. But being new to the area I don't know where to go and every time I fish Stockton I don't even get a bite. I don't know what I'm doing wrong , could some one give me some advice that would help with the bass and crappie. Keeping in mind I have to fish from the shore. Thanks in advance.
binman Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I will send you a few spots through the PM that can help off the bank but most of your better fishing at Stockton will be by boat Brandon Inman

Members trambia Posted April 25, 2009 Members Posted April 25, 2009 your best bet would be somewhere the wind doesnt blow 100mph like here every day
Dutch Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 With the lake up a foot or so bank fishing will be hard because of all the bushes denying you access. Crappie and bass should be in the coves on spawning banks soon. There are some accessible places around Rouark and Mutton Creek.
Whodat Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I would fish off the Mile Long Bridge with a 1000 foot leader and minnows!!!!

Im not a bank fisherman but i do have some buddys that do good on rip rap. The back of maze creek, back of turkey creek. Also you can go to the Iron bridge on the little sac. Look it up on the forum under the sac river. They are catching mad white bass up there. Also check out the cc area boat ramp theres some decent bank fishing up there around the bridge and the old bridge.
