dwiebenga Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 After months of waiting and watching you all have the fun, I finally get to do my own little report. I found most of the water in the area to be between 62-66 degrees. The fish were starting to bed, but were not holding. I just let them be, and do their thing. Majority of my fish were caught on the north side of the lake where the strong south wind was blowing the warmer water. Most of the fish were on the points or on banks with gravel that transitioned to larger rock. Most of these fish were caught on a 3/16 oz shakeyhead with a Zoom finesse worm in watermelon/red or a C Rig with a Fish Dr in the same color. I did catch an odd fish on fluke, FB Jig, and Grub. Then there was the rain. That changed the entire game...topwater. Monday and today I caught appoximately 30 fish on a Super Spook. These fish were in suspended chasing large schools of shad over 40-50 feet of water. It started about 6:30am and was over by 8:00 am. Overall, I caught and released 60+ fish and 18 of them were keepers. I also caught 4 white bass over 16 inches on top. Here are some pics from my long weekend.
