Members mobluegill Posted April 29, 2009 Members Posted April 29, 2009 Hello, I'm new here and wanted to get some ideas on what to bring to fish mid-may. I bought some jigheads to tie with marabou. I fish a 3-4 wt flyrod and lightweight spinrod. I have caught trout before with spinning rod and powerbait. Last year I got skunked Memorial Day weekend--even though the corps had released 50000 trout right before we came. My little nephew caught his first trout on part of nightcrawler he found on the dock at copper creek. Sorry to ramble, but I am looking forward to visiting and I would really like to catch trout this time. Any ideas on what to bring? Marion
duckydoty Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 If they happen to shut the water off for you and you get to wade fish during the day.... cracklebacks, soft hackles, sowbugs, scuds, midges, san juan worms, pine squirrel sculpins, wooley buggers, copper johns, and renegades. Water off during the night....... Pine squirrel sculpins, wooley buggers, slumpbusters, and sow bugs. Running water and fishing from a boat.... Marabou jigs, san juan worms, crackle backs, soft hackles. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
