Just wanted to let everyone know to be sure and lock up all your stuff at the boat ramp in Galena. I locked the cab of my truck but not my campershell I was gone downstream fishing for several hours and when I returned someone had stolen several items from inside my camper shell. I lost my turkey decoys and a big layered archery target, and a bow sight as well as several fishing rods. It is a shame you can't go fishing these days without someone stealing stuff out of your truck while your gone. Maybe someone will mistake one of those decoys for the real thing while the theives are carrying them in the woods and pepper their asses. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE :angry1::angry1::angry1:

That's darn shame that happened. We park at Blunk Rd and its dark down there when we get out. I've seen the sherriffs patrol the boat ramp below the bridge in Galena and the Kerr Access during the day time. I would not know if they patrol at night. Was there alot of vehicles parked there cause there were alot at Blunk Rd when we were done fishing yesterday. I hope my truck never gets broken in. Thanks for the warning though. I'll be sure to keep an extra dog in the truck B) . Dont feel too bad. My sons Ford Explorer was stolen out of our driveway a couple of months ago. It wasnt driveable when the state patrol found it in Lebanon. We live in Springfield.

Although I hope they do get caught. Because they probably think they got away with it. And could try again. I'll tell my partners what happened.

On a better note, I hope you caught some nice fish. Tonight my son and I ended the night with 5 BIG MALES and 25 not too much smaller. We did throw back probably 20 dinks atleast. He caught the majority of the big males this time. He loved it. And I of course I just got through cleaning them......Good Luck Guys

:wahaha::wahaha: We caught a lot of small white males and a few largemouth that were short nothing to brag about. But a good day of fishing anyway. I was thinking about it this am and as we were coming upstream we seen a teenage girl standing on the old Y bridge She was franticly waving her hands I thought at us but now I think it was a signal to her partners in crime we were coming back. There was 2 other trucks with empty boat trailers, and my buddies truck at the ramp. If they keep it up they surely will get caught hopefully in the act by a sherriffs deputy. I had the same thing happen at the Cape fair boat ramp once guess these guys are targeting fisherman. Oh well WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND hope it's not me that catches them I might not be too nice.

I was at the ramp that is between the new bridge (not too new anymore though) and the old Y bridge at the corner of Hwy 176 and Hwy 248.

I'm sure sorry to hear someone broke into your rig.

I always put in at Charlie's $2 hole at McCord Bend. There's a little campground and a fairly good ramp - better than the one at the end of Blunk Road anyway. There's nearly always some campers and bank fishermen around where the vehicles are parked, and since you have to drive right through Charlie's front yard and put 2 bucks in his mailbox, there's at least a little control on who's coming and going. I've never had any trouble there.

The water's so swift up at the ramp where you got broken into, I have a hard time launching and taking out there if I'm by myself. I'd a lot rather put in down below, and it's just a short run if I want to go upstream.

Sorry to hear that man. That's prolly the worst fear when I out fishing, that when I come back I hope my car is in the same shape I left it. I have however seen some careless people that just leave their fishing poles hanging out of their truck beds while they fish down from the parking lot. It makes an easy grab for someone looking to steal something. Always lock up and dont trust anyone.

I don't know where Charlies is at or how to get there. It sounds like that would be a safe place to leave a rig for sure. I got lucky loading this time but I could see where a guy could have a problem water was pretty swift there. If I can find out where your talking about I sure wouldn't mind giving the fellow a couple bucks to not have to worry about losing my stuff. Good Fishing. Dave

Thanks Sam for the $2.00 tip at CHARLIES....I dont guess there is anybody at TAYLOR SHOALS today. I seen the river up here above Nixa after work today. Guess the Channel Cats will be feeding after this flooding. Seen some nice ones rolling the water tuesday before the heavy rain blew in. We caught one Channel Cat 18inches long on a white maribou jig while white bass fishing. He had real nice colors..healthy looking.

Bubbas Dad...Hope they find them theives...Had a great idea,,,hook up an electric charge to the door handles on your truck... bet they wouldnt do it again. B)
