Thanks Jeremy! Are the marabou you talked about available in Springfield (yellow, orange tip)?

Thanks,

I'm sure Back Country Outfitters does. It's rabbit from Hareline. If you can't get it there, we have it at our fly shop here (Blue Ribbon) locally. Ask for Larry and he will set you up and mail it to you.

Russ Maddin used to fish with Kelly Galloup before he became popular in the fly fishing industry. Russ actually bought his fly shop before he went out west and opened Slide Inn. I talk to Kelly about once a week and he believes a lot in what patterns Russ comes out with. When I lived in Michigan I knew Kelly then and I saw this whole "streamer stuff" evolve. I talked to Russ about two weeks ago because I think the circus peanut pattern needs a different hook for these browns we have on the White. I’m now experimenting with some hooks he told me to try. Great guys. Kelly and I have also been comparing patterns and he’s got some knew ones up is sleeve. I’m tying them as we speak, but haven’t fished them yet. Crazy patterns. His ideas are SICK!

So that’s the story my friend.

Oh, Kelly even says, if he had one fly for an articulated pattern he would throw the circus peanut hands down. I fished it at Taney the last three days and caught several fish in 11,000-14,500. So they work on Taney as well.

Google Russ Maddin to learn the history about his patterns. He’s got some pretty good ones.

Thanks Jeremy! Also, thanks for the fly box on the mix up on the order of flies. The olive buggers are great. I've tied a couple of prototype Circus Peanuts for the Current that I'll try in a few weeks. Still getting the design down and placement of the eyes. Thanks again.
