redbud Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 I own a large parcel of land in Mc Donald Co., Big Sugar creek runs right through the middle of it .I have a huge problem with trespassers trashing our place. When I see people keeping fish out of season ,I inform them and then I am subsequently threatened, cussed at and even had rocks thrown at me.Mostof the time they are floaters coming from some canoe camp. Called MDC on some of the worst offenders but I dont know what the results were.I dont know if these people are just ignorant or dont care but I get the same answer from most of them "we always done that,we live around here"With the water being up this spring should be a lot of knot heads getting caught at the take out. If you are a creek fisherman get a hold of me , I can grant access
Fly_Guy Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Its tough when the body of water you've fished for years becomes private 'no trespassing' property. However, a thoughtful landowner will let people fish if they ask.

creek wader Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Redbud, Glad to hear they caught the poachers. .. .. I understand what your going through with the trespassers. I used to own a farm and had problems with people fishing my ponds and the deer hunters. I guess it goes with the territory. I may have to take you up on that stream access part. I'm going to be down that way in late May. Unlike your unwelcome visitors, I wouldn't trash your property. I C&R, only. I have total respect for the landowners and their land. Where in Mac county, is your land located? What mile marker on the Big Sugar?... wader wader
Chief Grey Bear Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Hey redbud~ thank you so much for the offer. I am on boad with Ducky if you want some clean up. I know others will join too. I am not opposed to "having a little talk" with those that seem to want to trash your area. Are you up or down stream from Cyclone? redbud Posted May 2, 2009 Author Posted May 2, 2009 I am at the intersection of KK and rt 90.upstream from Cyclone. The offer for a cleanup day is very kind,I could have used you guys after I bought the place.I will never understand why people can go to the great outdoors and then leave trash behind.Other than the old tires that surface after a flood I have got it under control. If any volunteer cleanup can be done lets do it on the lake. They put a large dumpster at Eagle Rock last year and it was full. I quit fishing Beaver because of the trash,I was pitching up in the junk to catch fish and just couldnt stand it any more . Table Rock is one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen .Lets report poachers and people littering The MDC guys need your help. b&w pic in winter those rocks are as big as a truck.
