techo Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 A friend and I fished a charity tournament with 165 boats. It was a good day on the water. We caught well over twenty fish, but only two would have weighed. We stayed away from the beds and fished secondary points. We let the fish go in the same area we caught them. We knew we wouldn't be in the money anyway. My friend caught three shorts on the spinner ater I told hm it wasn't a spinner day. One keeper came on the Carolina fish doctor and the other on the Eakins jig. Most of our fish were caught on the Eakins. Two of the top three places said they fished a tube down by the dam on beds. Saw the two Billls there and I think they took seventh. Saw a few other OAF faces, but they can speak up if they want. Overall a great day with $10,200.00 being raised for the Make a Wish Foundation. tapout Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Hey techo, I wish I would of known you were there, I would of found you and intoduced myself. I met Babler. Already knew Beck. I also had two keepers, quite a few short fish, and this feeling of if only I had one more hour....... I've never placed in that tournament but that is one of my goals. I caught quality and quanity fish three days before the tournament. My partner caught them the day before the tournament. And tourny day....couldn't find em'. Thats fishing. I'd like to thank my FUTURE sponsers: Falcon Rods, Jewel Bait Co, and Seagar
techo Posted May 7, 2009 Author Posted May 7, 2009 Sorry I missed you tapout. I guess if I would have gotten up off my sorry butt and walked over by the Bills, we would have met up. My back has been killing me the last week and I sat on the little bleachers all humped over looking at my shoes. It was a fun tournament. Lets hook up next year for sure! Tim Carpenter
