Just curious how the Current River is? Is it high and murky? Or is it blown out? It's showing a forecast of rain for the weekend...what does that look like?

I would be fishing the Tan Vat area mostly...I wouldnt float or fish the lower river. The farthest down the river I'd go would be Baptist. How does that translate for river that far upstream from Akers...

Check the Montauk guage...its a new one, located near the end of the state park...I dont watch it much, but its probably your best bet for fishing above Baptist..Ashley Creek comes in about a mile below Baptist and it can add alot of flow when it rains, virtually no flow at low water..Big Creek enters just below Cedargrove not much flow at low water, lots after a rain... then Welch Spring adds a bunch of water about a mile above Akers.... Figure a fast rise of over 2' will make thinks tough on the upper end and it looks like a big spike of water is moving through right know.

Doesnt look like its fishable today, but all isnt lost......the Current often comes up and down faster than most rivers.......Just depends on how big the spike is...The upper end will probably be fishable by tomorrow afternoon or Sunday depending on how much more rain they get. Cheers.
