Hello everyone. I stumbled across this board today looking for some ifo on Finley river, since its in the latest issue of the Conservationist magazine. I reside in St. Louis, spend most avaliable free time fishing if i can, pretty much anywhere there is water. Spend alot of time at Montuak trout fishing, but the park is starting to bore me, its too easy to catch the fish in there now, so its time to concentrate efforts in the xxxx ribbon areas of trout. Plus whatever other little creeks and streams i find. And a fun random little factoid, my great grandma used to be the MO record holder for smallmouth bass, atleast until the current one was caught in 98 or whatever :D

I am going to steal Geoff's thread, by saying Hi to everyone as well, he sent me a link to this forum. :D I am Jon. I pretty much fish whenever I can, usually farm ponds. I live in Godfrey, IL which is just across the river from St. Louis. Always looking for new places to fish, its hard finding streams to fish in IL, typically you will find a pond on some private property before you find a decent stream to fish. Well that's about it, just dropping a line, hopefully I can find some good info on the site. take care.

Novice Fly fisher.

Thanks for the welcome.

I will take a moment and speak for the both of us here. We're both very compitent and sucessfull anglers, we have pretty much conquired Montauk and its fish within the park, to the point where it has gotten almost boring. So now its time to branch out and explore the less popular areas, and explore new territory and see what kinds of fish we can find.

We both fish spinning and fly tackle, i got Jon hooked on fly fishing i guess it was a year or two ago, so then he had to go out and buy a bunch of fly gear and now he's starting to buy the tying materials. So now i've got something else to teach 'im. haha. We are lucky being that his parents and other relatives have several farm ponds which we can fish on, and i have a buddy who has property right net to blue springs creek and blue springs CA so the adventures are never lacking. Plus my future in-laws live on table rock lake and have a couple of boats and jetskies, so were good.

as far as our reports, they will be posted, along with photos. photography is another hobby of supreme enjoy ment to me. so pictures will be plentiful.

Geoff,

Well, as you can see from this site, we share much info and pictures. I primarily hangout on the Table Rock and Bull Shoals threads, but I saw your intro and thought I would introduce myself and welcome ya'all. I remember when I posted my intro and others responded back.

Enjoy the site!
