I may have just had a flashback or something, but this had me laughing pretty hard, and then someone fishouttawater not getting it had me rolling on the floor laughing... Members JONBOY Posted May 19, 2009 Members Posted May 19, 2009 I went on the Jacks Fork the last weekend, caught a small goggle eye and some long ear sunfish. Overall fishing was kinda slow... but the water wasn't. We went from Rymers to Button rock which is about 11 miles in about 5 hours, and we never really paddled. So to say the least the water was movin quik. Novice Fly fisher.
Members Turns Posted May 20, 2009 Members Posted May 20, 2009 I haven't been there since last spring but I'm very familiar with the Jacks Fork. Buck Hollow to Bay Creek is a nice long two day float with fishing. My buddy and I have been just doing Rhymers to Bay Creek lately with a lot of fishing and stopping. We fill up two days easy, don't go very fast and paddle back up good holes a time or two. If you want to keep moving from sun up to sun down Buck Hollow to Alley Spring is doable in two days at spring levels at or above 2 feet at Eminence. Here: http://www.currentrivercanoe.com/jfrfloats.html <-----nice map too. The fishing is great. Especially during a new moon. Lots of small mouths like that one! Bring dark Yamamoto Sencos and brown and orange soft plastic Crawdads, I use blood red hooks. 1/4 oz. Buzz Baits and Popers for Dawn and Dusk. With the recent high water there could be washed out banks and a lot of strainers. I'm sure with the holiday weekend they have things fairly clean and cleared out.
