ollie Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Got out yesterday evening for a couple of hours after work and fished Hickory. Didn't do too bad. Landed four to hand and missed a couple. Not too bad for just a couple of hours. Black was the go to color and other colors didn't get me any bites. Water level is still pretty good. Not too low, but a good flow still. Had a bad experience however that really ticked me off. Walked up on a guy bait fishing on his bucket and watched him throw a beer can in the stream as I was watching him. I couldn't keep my mouth shut! I let him know how hard our efforts were in keeping this stream clean and that if I saw him down there again he better have his t's crossed right and his I's dotted just so. He did apoligize, but he sure didn't feel bad enough to go and get the can. Why can't people just pick up after themselves? I have never figured that one out. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Buzz Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Some people are just idiots. You should have written him a ticket and made him show up for the next stream team cleanup. I'm glad you set him straight. Maybe, just maybe, he'll think about it next time he goes to the creek. I have been there a couple of times over the last two weeks and haven't seen anything as blatant as that. I have seen the usual candy wrapper and worm box but, nothing too bad. I did catch a few fish before they were mostly taken out. One day I managed 5 fish the next time 16 fish, all released, then the next two times nothing at all. It's amazing how fast they can clean out a stream of fish and yet not lift a finger to pick up their own trash. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
