et84 Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 My brother and a lot of his friends (as well as me and my friends) have always been really in to canoeing/ kayaking. We float the James and Beaver a lot. I just acquired a 12' Waco flat-bottom jon boat, and I was looking for some floats that the boat could handle with just a trolling motor. It only takes about 6" of water to float it- especially w/o the outboard, but obviously it's not nearly as maneuverable as a yak/ canoe. I know it can handle Hootentown to Galena, and I'm sure we'll end up floating that sometime over the summer, we were just looking for something that won't be so crowded- we all fish from our boats. I know there probably aren't many places like this, but I figured some people on the forum might know of a few. Thanks!! Gavin Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 I'd look to the Big Piney, Osage Fork of the G. Nade, or the G. Nade during the week. Cheers.
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 The G'nade would work, and so would the Niangua above the Spring. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
